Dreaming City does need to be pulled at some point, because the Curse needs to end if that story can ever move forward. All of this because there's only Titan on the engine. Not only this, but the engine is being updated constantly: weapon balancing, reward structuring, vendor actions/activities, economies, strikes, exotic quests, UI, everything. Usually, as a developer, you'd recompile your code several times throughout building a piece of code to make sure that it's doing what you want it to do, and you haven't made a spelling mistake or misused something in some way - it's better to catch it early, because then you know where the problem is and you can fix it before it gets lost. Reducing decompile time straight up makes bungie more efficient, the absolute worse case scenario is that the players see no increase in new content while bungie's development runs cheaper and saves them money. Just cutting out the curse cycle without significantly reworking the area would break a lot of stuff and kind of ruin a lot of what makes it special. The locations that are going away are the planets with the least amount of activities/older activities no one plays anymore, that and the content isn’t just vanishing forever. Hard grasping this... new light player so I bought forsaken back when shadowkeep released... it's crazy to think about the same thing will also happen to Europa at some point. In fact, the 2021 expansion will feature Savuthun we assume so the DC will probably play a role in that story so it would make sense to vault the DC within the next year to prepare it for that expansion.
